We all know about the restorative powers of the natural world , and there ’ s no time like spring to embrace them . If you don ’ t have the time you ’ d like to spend outdoors , bring the outside in with our new range of prints

“ I FIND NATURE ENDLESSLY INSPIRING ,” says artist Lynsey Dorman , who is also a member of the Cotswold Company creative team . “ It infuses all of my projects in some way .” For this project , she ’ s joined three other artists to create a collection of bespoke prints , paintings and photography , all aiming to help people keep a connection to the natural world while inside their homes .

“ There ’ s something quite calming about having natural forms around you ,” explains Lynsey , “ and we wanted to offer that to our customers in a beautiful new way .” Lynsey ’ s prints are simple but striking botanical studies hand-painted using layers of black ink to create a delicate monochrome effect . Her background in printed textiles and lino cutting comes through in her work and each piece begins as a sketched silhouette to establish shape and composition before the ink is applied .

Lynsey chose ferns and eucalyptus for their strong silhouettes , but contrasting shapes . “ The feminine form of the eucalyptus complements the more masculine edges of the ferns ,” says Lynsey . “ I have both in my hallway at home and they balance each other beautifully .”
